THE FRONT STEPS PROJECT ~ Sarasota & Manatee County
“Preserving precious memories of our familes”
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY!
As a photographer, I spend my time capturing and creating memories for families. Being invited into someone’s life and sharing in times of joy and new beginnings between children, couples, growing families and just wanting to remember what their family was like in that moment is what I live for. Those moments of joy are still happening in homes right now. I know it.
Like everyone, Sarasota and Bradenton residents are doing their part to stay at home...and be HAPPY!
Starting this week, I am offering to take five minute “Front Steps Portraits” of Sarasota & Manatee County area residents. I will be taking 2-3 hours each day to fit my families in that want to be a part of this project. I ask you to please be patient with scheduling as I have had an influx of requests. I will be messaging you all with the times and dates of your neighborhoods sessions.
After your quick session, I will email you the link to download the digital files of your portraits (probably 3-5 files). In exchange, I am asking you to make a donation PRIOR to our session to either the Red Cross -Sarasota or All Faiths Food Bank . I am suggesting a minimum of $25-$50++, but any amount will help as these organizations are all truly hurting right now (as I know are so many others).
I will be posting these images on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject and #thefrontstepsprojectssarasota. Please share these posts. Let’s spread the word!
The purpose of this project is to bring us together when we might feel isolated. I want to highlight the faces of our community during a time when we might not see them in passing at school pick up, the local coffee shop, at work, sports practice or at the gym. Participating in this project is also an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now in our community.
I will be taking images outside ONLY and from at least 6-10 feet away. Our session will be brief, (likely 5 min) This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session. Want to stand outside in your pajamas and slippers? Sounds good to me. Kids in mismatched clothes but you’re thrilled they got dressed? Fantastic. I’m living in my yoga pants (and don’t even do yoga) Just be you.
Should we become restricted from leaving our houses in the upcoming couple of weeks, of course I will need to cancel the project.
Want to participate?
Fill out this form and I will get back to you within 24 hours!
Don’t forget to donate
Inspiration for this project came from the amazing Cara Soulia Photography in Needham, MA!
