Have you ever thought about what you would like your legacy to be? How do you want your friends and family to remember you? For the Fabulous 40 over 40 project, our passion here at Christine Nicole Photography is to take the every-day woman and give her an unforgettable experience. This experience is an amazing way to capture who you are right now in your life. We still have some spots left for this project. Contact us today to reserve your spot and share your story with us!

Our next lovely woman from our Fabulous 40 project is….Barbara Field!

Barbara considers herself from New York and California and is a writer. For over 30 years, she has worked in corporate marketing, journalism, and writing. She enjoyed working for CBS, Harcourt Brace, and two different universities, publishing. Through the Afghan Women's Writing Project, Barbara mentored women and launched a chapter of The Op-Ed Project in Southern California. She enjoys meditating, visiting street fairs, museums, and various literary places, walking, and reading.

One of her most significant accomplishments has been facing adversity, time and time again, yet continuing to get up and overcome. She is a strong single mother of a son and is proud that he has grown into a fine young man and a good human being. She describes herself as imaginative, brainy, and kind. Her favorite motto is from John Lennon: "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end."

Barbara believes that creativity and entrepreneurial thinking can change the world. These two things are significant to her. She loves literature, fashion, photography, and the arts. She strives to seek beauty in everyday things and hopes to leave her mark on the world, no matter how small, to contribute to a better and brighter world.

“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in,” from Leonard Cohen from Anthem, is a quote that she sees as defining her. Some advice she would give her eighteen-year-old self would be to have confidence because you are more than enough. She would also tell herself to own her power and beauty. Barbara would like to leave behind a legacy of having mattered. She wants to be known as someone who was loved and loved back and that she created and helped others around her create meaningful stories.

She wanted to participate in this project because she loves photography and wanted to be involved in an experience that empowered women, especially those over the age of 40, and still rocking! She enjoyed getting her hair and makeup done and the feeling of transformation she experienced. This project reminded her that helping women step into their beauty gives them a sense of truth, power, and self.

Want to know more about Barbara and her story? She would love to hear about and help you share yours too!  She teaches memoir writing to non-writers and those beginning to write. She can be reached at writinglifestories.com, or you can email her at barbara@writinglifestories.com.
