Our next lovely woman from our Fabulous 40 project is….Jenny Abers!
Jenny is from Washington and works in E-Commerce. She enjoys being active and getting outside to enjoy the fresh air. She loves to participate in physical activities such as hiking, snowboarding, biking, and playing sports with her children. Tennis is a new sport that she is currently learning! She also enjoys woodworking; working on wooden projects and learning to build something new is something she finds very therapeutic. Jenny also finds joy in crafting and decorating and working in her garden.
One of her greatest accomplishments is finishing her degree. When she was 21 years old, she decided to leave the University of Washington to move to Los Angeles. A few years later, she decided to return to Washington to finish school. Graduating from one of the top public schools in The United States makes her very proud. She also believes her children to be her other most outstanding achievement. She has three boys, ages 11, 9, and 6. She loves watching them grow and change and see the way their minds and hearts develop. Each day she learns something new by helping them grow and see their inner potential.
A quote that Jenny lives by is, "When we choose to trust the journey and embrace love and joy, we are free to fly." She also has a few personal mottos she thinks of frequently: "The flower doesn't dream of the bee, it blossoms, and the bee comes." "Put on your positive pants." "There's no need to be perfect to inspire others, let people get inspired by how you deal with imperfections." and "Live. Laugh. Love. Repeat." Being kind, helping others, and having a loving heart are all things that truly matter to Jenny. Trying to instill these values into her children and encourage them to be the best kind of person they can be is essential. She also never forgets to be silly and playful and to avoid letting life get too serious. Having fun and laughing is so important!
When thinking back, she would give her eighteen-year-old self many pieces of advice. She would tell herself to go and find her passion. Whatever fills her soul with joy, curiosity, and the ability to grow her dreams, go after it! Stop trying to please everyone else and do things that others want her to do-her life is her own, and only she will get to decide how she wants to live it. Don't hold back out of fear, and don't settle for a path that doesn't bring complete joy. Jenny would remind her to be kind to herself and learn from her failures. See the world, gain experiences, and turn all her dreams into her most incredible feats. Life is meant to be a journey of growth so embrace the contrasts that life brings to continue evolving.
Jenny wants to leave a legacy of always supporting her children, giving as much of herself to them as possible. She wants them to remember her as being fun, playful, and silly and that she accepted them unconditionally and pushed them to be their best. To be recognized as someone positive, uplifting, and encouraging to others is another part of the legacy she would like to leave behind. She wants people to see her as an inspiration to be more positive, less judgemental, and more kind and compassionate.
She wanted to be part of the Fab over 40 project to do something for herself. While being a busy mom and always catering to everyone else, this was something she would never have thought to do for herself. This project was a chance to be without her kids and feel special, alive, and sexy! She enjoyed being able to get all "fancied up" and to have some fun!
